Departmental Council
Function
The Council is the Department’s planning and management body.
It is tasked with:
- approving the Department’s objectives, assessment criteria and three-year plan;
- determining how many new full, associate and assistant professors must be recruited every year in each curricular area, as well the number of technical and administrative staff members and the financial resources needed to ensure that research goals are met and educational provision is sustainable;
- organizing the research and teaching activities of full, associate and assistant professors.
The Council is made up of:
- the Department’s tenured full and associate professors, tenure track assistant professors and non-tenure track assistant professors;
- representatives of the technical and administrative staff;
- representative of students enrolled in doctoral programs at the Department;
- representatives of research fellows;
- representatives of students enrolled in degree programs.
